Spiral Calendar Daily Scores For August, 2010

August spiral calendar predictions show score peaks (possible market turn dates) on the 6th/7th and 26th/27th, and as in July the middle of the month looks very choppy with minor peaks on 11th/12th and 16th/17th. It promises to be a busy month for traders!

For July the spiraldates score peak on the 15th matched the closing high exactly and was one or two days after the nearly identical intraday highs on the 13th and 14th. The second peak on the 27th marked a high exactly – whether or not it is the minor wave 2 top preceding a large decline remains to be seen.

Weekly Spiral Calendar Stock Charts For July 30th, 2010

Posted: under Predictions, Stocks.

I’m starting a new series of posts of weekly spiral calendar charts for the US Stock indices: Dow Jones Industrials, S&P 500, and Nasdaq-100 posted every Friday evening. These will be the new-style charts with turn dates calculated directly from the chart data mechanically, without any subjective choice of which dates are “significant” highs or lows. I also plan to continue the monthly spiraldates score charts since those have a good track record and it will be interesting to compare the two methods in action.

I recommend clicking on each chart to see the enlarged version as browsers tend to do awful things to shrunken images, such as remove price bars entirely.

Looks like the three indices are in broad agreement without being identical and the July 27th top, originally predicted to be the major turn date for the month back in our July Predictions Spiraldates Score Chart, is showing some good alignment with past highs and low in all three charts.

Gold Update July 29th, 2010

Tuesday’s closing low in gold matches a spiral cluster (green bar below the July 27th price bar) and several spirals backwards from that date align with recent highs and lows. The green vertical bar to the right of the price bars at the end of the chart indicate another spiral cluster next Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010, although it may turn out to be either a high or another low – it’s only marked green because price is currently under the 10-day moving average.

Is July 27th, 2010 Top Only Wave 3?

Well we have a top of sorts at yesterday’s opening surge. However the downside action since then looks more corrective than impulsive, which leads to the possibility of the top being only wave 3 of C of the upwards correction since the July 1st 2010 low. The above chart for July 27th shows the most likely turn dates as calculated directly from the chart data instead of the spreadsheet methods used for the Spiraldates Score charts. There are several more likely turn dates in the near future – the red vertical bars just to the right of the last date on the chart – that are for the next 10 trading days. The largest bar is on Friday July 30th 2010 which may be the best candidate for a wave 5 top if the market does turn higher.

The first turn date predicted in the July Spiraldate scores chart, July 15th 2010 hit the closing highs in the Dow Industrials, S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 on the nose and was only one day past the intraday highs. The above chart for July 26th, one day before the second predicted turn date, today July 27th, 2010, shows the near-term alignments. The short term alignments are off, but f9, f10, anf f11 are nearly spot on. Market action suggests we are due for a top soon – is today the day?

Spiral

Spiral Calendar Daily Score Chart For Nasdaq-100 for July 2nd, 2010 – click to enlarge

Many stock charts are showing a spiral cluster this weekend, one trading day after July 2nd indicated by the vertical green bar immediately to the right of the price data on the chart. The next ten tradings days are shown, but there is only the above cluster. Since these spiral calendar charts take no account of weekends or holidays this could mean an immediate rally on Tuesday – possibly after Asian and European markets have made a low on Monday, or we could make a low in US markets on Tuesday July 6th. This might correspond with a minute wave 1 of minor wave 3 low that is one possible Elliott Wave count. Even if this count is correct, trading it may not be worthwhile given the risk of missing the large downside potential possible in wave 3 of 3 down.

To check this the red and blue vertical lines show the spiral calendar intervals going back in time from July 2nd , 2010. Several align quite well with prior highs and lows, indicating a turn is likely here.

Gold’s Thursday 7/1/10 Low

Posted: under Commodities, Predictions, Spiraldate Score Charts.

Thursday’s sharp decline in gold may mark at least a short term low as spirals backwards from that date align with many highs in the rally phase. The green vertical bars next to the price bars at the end of the chart indicate several spirals aligning on July 1st ( the larger green bar below that date) and another cluster several trading days later (the row of green bars to the right of the prices only shows one other significant spiral date cluster).
